How do you install Rockwell software?  It is a question we get asked all the time and so we decided to share it in this blog post.  If you have further questions, please reach out to··us at customersupport@revereelectric.com.

Download the installation files:

• Go to this link: https://download.rockwellautomation.com/webupdates/enter.aspx

• Enter the serial number and the company name to authorize the download

          · If you do not know your serial number, contact us at the email above

• Choose the version of the software you want to download

          · If you do not see the version you want to download, then you need to purchase a tech support contract. 

• Clicking on the Cart and the download button creates a ‘Download Manager’ in your downloads folder

• Run the download manager

• Once the files are downloaded, they will show up in your C:\RA folder

To install the software:

• Go to the C:\RA folder

• Find the folder for the software that you downloaded. For this example, we will use Studio 5000

• In that folder, find the one named something like this: ‘xx.xx-Studio5000-Web.part1’ and double-click to run it (this will extract all the files)

• Now look for the new folder that was created, it will be named something like ‘xx.xx-Studio5000-Web’, open the folder

• Double-click to Run Setup, follow the prompts

 If you have already installed the software and you just need to ACTIVATE it, then proceed as follows:

• If you try to follow the video, but you do not know your product key, then you have two options to get this information:

          · Option 1, call Rockwell Automation to obtain it: Rockwell’s phone number: 440-646-5800

                    · Dial Direct Dial Code 010 for the activations group

                    · Tell them your serial number and company name and ask for the product key

          · Option 2, Go to this website to get your activation certificate:  https://download.rockwellautomation.com/webupdates/enter.aspx

                    · Enter the serial number and the company name - If you do not know your serial number, contact us at the email above

• On the next page you should see a tiny PDF icon. Click this to download your activation certificate. If you do not see the PDF icon, click the plus sign on the left to expand and you should see it under there

Side note:

 • If you try to follow the video and it says no activations are available, then that means the activation is being used already and you have 2 options:

          · Option 1, Find the computer (or dongle) to which the activation is hooked to and “rehost the activation”

          · Option 2, If the computer is dead, destroyed, or wiped, then you can call Rockwell to tell them what happened, and they can rehost the license on their end.

                    · To ask Rockwell to rehost a license for you, call them at 440-646-5800

                    · Enter 010 for the Direct Dial Code to get to the Activation Group

          · Once Rockwell rehosts the license for you, you can follow the video on how to activate the software (above).
